For all primary home purchases mortgage applicants will need to prove stability in the same or similar line of work for  at least two years. Tow years of stable reliable is usually the benchmark to prove stability. If you are using income from bonuses, overtime, commission or self-employment income or a second, part-time job for extra earning, you’ll need a 2 year history average to qualify the income.

NOTE: We have mortgage lenders that will accept 3 or 12 or even 24 months of bank statments for income if you can verify you have been in the same line of work for 2 or more years.
